His leadership builds upon extended technology & business expertise. For over 30 years he has engaged an enterprising career that extends across engineering, science, technology and business. In particular, he has a 21-year dynamic career with IBM that spans technical leadership, expertise and assignments including IT Consulting, Sales Enablement, IBM Mainframe System z, Microprocessor Design and Semiconductor Device & Technology Development.
Dr. Buti is a leader in engaging clients and driving strategic initiatives & planning and advancing solutions vital to customers’ IT and business transformation. He places premium value on customer facing and technical support, understands his customer's business and technical environments, and amplifies effort to build business cases vital to his clients and to drive sales and achieve revenue quota.
Among his key achievements, he has engaged a rare dynamic career that spans IT consulting, IT sales enablement, customer facing, business, microprocessor design, device & technology development, engineering and science.
He invented and implemented the world class register renaming resources for the IBM out-of-order POWER4 & POWER5 machines – a unique approach in the industry to maximize the concurrency in the superscalar pipeline and boost throughput. He has co-invented a novel asymmetrical n-MOSFET transistor (Halo Source GOLD drain) that is adopted by the industry in the sub-quarter micron region. In his early work, Dr. Buti carried on original research in medium-and-high energy physics investigating and synthesizing electro-excitation and hadronic interaction experiments and made classic work on Oxygen 16 nucleus. He has a PhD in Physics from MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology), Cambridge, MA, USA and holds 35 patents (US & Foreign) & has published 37 papers.
